Software Update: Total Commander 9.20 RC3

The third release candidate of Total Commander version 9.20 has been released. This program can be used as a replacement for Windows Explorer. Splitting the image in half makes it easy to copy files, but the program can do much more. There are various ways to modify files, there is a built-in ftp client and a multirename tool, and there is support for a large number of compression formats. Furthermore, the functionality can be plugins be expanded.

New in version 9.10 includes support for use on multiple screens with different dpi settings, it can also access online OneDrive files on the latest version of Windows and date and time variables can now be used to create new text files or folders and multiple folders can be created at the same time. Version 9.20 mainly contains bug fixes, but there are also some minor improvements. The changelog for this release looks like this:

Fixed:

  • Skip internal associations in virtual folders where we can’t get a local path for the file, eg a phone connected via MTP (32/64)
  • DrivesShowUpcase=0 was ignored in %t parameter, always used uppercase drive letter (32/64)
  • Prevent crash when reloading list of shared folders (eg to show shared overlay) (32/64)
  • Lister crash on Windows 8.1 64-bit only, happened after opening Lister multiple times (solution: keep hidden Lister open in the background) (64)
  • Moving separator between main panels wrong when showing two separate tree panels (32/64)
  • Directory handle leaking in watchdir thread, preventing the ejection of USB sticks, and sometimes the closing of the program (32/64)
