Download Total Commander 8.00 Beta 12
There seems to be no end to the series of beta releases of Total Commander version 8.0, because number 12 has already appeared on Friday. This program can be used as a replacement for Windows Explorer. Splitting the image in half makes it easy to copy files, but the program can do much more. There are various ways to modify files, there is a built-in ftp client and a multi-rename tool, and there is support for a large number of compression formats. Furthermore, the functionality can be extended with plugins. The most important change in version 8.00 is that a separate 64bit version is now also available. In addition to the necessary bug fixes, the following changes have been added in this release:
What’s new?
- Compare by content: CompareDeleteBak=1 set in wincmd.ini: Delete .bak files when closing compare tool
- Control TC with a Windows Media Center remote control (Enable with MediaRemote=1 in wincmd.ini)
- Set style of Network Neighborhood with NethoodStyle option in wincmd.ini
Total Commander 8.0 is the first version available in both 32-bit and 64-bit. Currently there aren’t many 64-bit plugins yet – I will publish them when they become available. Therefore you should keep the 32-bit version for the moment if you use plugins regularly.
A list of additions and corrections, also for previous versions, can be found in the history file.
As usual, the update is free for all registered users.
