The image editing program The GIMP stands for The GNU Image Manipulation Program and is considered by many to be the open source counterpart of Adobe Photoshop. The development team is steadfastly continuing to develop this useful program and has therefore recently released version 2.2.7. The release notes look like this:

Version 2.2.7 of the GNU Image Manipulation Program has been released. This is a bug-fix release in the stable 2.2 series that fixes a couple of problems that have been reported for GIMP 2.2. The source code is available from the usual places, binary packages will appear soon.[break]The GIMP 2.2.7 is available in the following flavors:
