Software Update: The Bat! 9.3.1

The more than twenty-year-old email client The Bat! of the Moldovan company Ritlabs is slowly gaining ground. The new director, Stefan Tanurkov, who had previously been eliminated in a power struggle with his old partner Maxim Masiutin, is fully committed to modernizing his brainchild.

For example, Chromium’s HTML rendering engine has replaced the outdated internal and Internet Explorer engines and now includes a dark mode. The program has also undergone several changes in the interface and really looks much fresher than before. In version 9.3.1 the following changes and improvements have also been made:

Improvements

• Single Spaces between quotation marks are now ignored

Fixes

• Colors in the Message List Tab settings could be displayed black on black
• Quoted text background in outgoing HTML messages depended on the current theme
• Fixed folder re-filtering dialog painting problems when a custom theme was selected
• Fixed the “blank space after restore” problem in the main window
