Software Update: The Bat! 4.2.9

Ritlabs released version 4.2.9 of its email program The Bat! released. The program supports multiple pop3 and imap4 accounts and has a Bayesian spam filter and extensive search and filtering capabilities. The Bat is available in the flavors Home and Professional Edition, where students and non-profit organizations receive a discount on the purchase price. Home users must, as usual, also have their International Pack Updating. The difference between the Pro and Home editions is shown on this page Out of the blankets. Version 4.2.9 is a so-called maintenance release and mainly contains minor changes and improvements. The full list since version 4.2.4 looks like this:

What’s new since 4.2.4:

• Fixed a bug in the “Tips of the day”

• Sorting by gender in “Pick email addresses” dialog
• Some captions or controls didn’t fit the windows
• Macros that accept date format as the first parameter now can also accept the language as the second parameter. If the language is specified, the Windows formatting is using. The language can be specified for the following date macros: %DATE, %ODATE, %ORcvDate; the date is formatted according to this. Additionally, when formatting a date, you can use “L” format specifier to get DATE_LONGDATE. For specifying language in time formatting, you can use the following macros: %Time, %TimeLong, %OTime, %OTimeLong, %ORcvTime, %ORcvTimeLong, according to this.
• The Bat! Didn’t understand long Generic top-level domains like .info, .name, .aero, .asia, .coop, .jobs, .mobi, .museum, .travel, .arpa and .nato.
• Fixed a few grammar errors in “Postponed Sending”
• Fixed a few typos in the interface
