Software Update: The Bat! 1.62q

The email program The Bat! has arrived at version 1.62q. In this release some minor bugs have been fixed, but also a small tweak in the program itself. The makers have the following changes applied:

Windows Script File (*.WSF) is added to the list “Disable opening of these files” on a newly-installed copy of The Bat!

Message ID was generated improperly

SMTP authentication took place before STARTTLS

Encoded file names weren’t “quoted” in MIME sections

The Bat! didn’t gracefully handle “CertificateRequest” packet on TLS and didn’t connect on TLS with some servers

The Bat! didn’t handle zero-length packets on TLS. This did prevent from connecting with WEB.DE
