On Wednesday, new versions of TeamViewer were released for Windows and Linux. This program allows remote management of other computers via a secure VPN connection. TeamViewer is free for non-commercial use and is being developed for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, iOS and Android. New in version 7 includes the ability to start meetings before there are participants and to send meeting invitations directly from an email program. In addition, meetings can now have up to 25 participants. It is also easier to share documents during meetings and a meeting or presentation can be recorded. The new Windows version includes the following enhancements:
- Enhanced VoIP stability
- Connections established through command line parameters show a remote control window again
- Ctrl+Alt+Del works more reliable
- Several PAC Proxy scripts can now be defined when separating them with a semicolon
- Fixed: Several layout issues
- Various other minor improvements and fixes
The new Linux version includes the following enhancements:
- Improved compatibility with Ubuntu 12.04 64bit and CentOS 6.x 64bit
- New button for password options in the TeamViewer main window
- Clipboard now works reliably in both directions
- Various minor fixes and improvements
