Software Update: SyncBackFree 6.5.4.0

2Brightsparks has released version 6.5.4.0 of SyncBackFree. This program is the simplest and therefore also free implementation of the backup programs that this company has to offer. In addition to making backups, SyncBackFree can also synchronize data. This can be to a location on the same disk, another disk, another medium such as a CD-RW or a USB stick, an ftp server or a zip archive. In addition to SyncBackFree, there are SyncBackSE and SyncBackPro, which is a lot of money for 29 and 46 euros respectively additional functionality offer. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

New:

• Option to tell Windows not cache/buffer a files contents in memory when copying it

Fixed:

• Was not expanding and selecting profiles when started
• May fail if FTP server disconnected during creation of large Zip file
• May fail to detect case changes when using SmartSync if configured to detect them
• Single zip backup not working when using cloud storage
• Groups were not run in reverse when supposed to, eg during restore
• Time shown for dates and times where time is exactly midnight

Updated:

• The FTP alternative file list parser can now also be used when using MLST
• Open Right/Destination will also open optional full backup directory
