Version 3.8.5 has been released from SugarSync. This online storage and synchronization service is comparable to services such as Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive and iCloud. The program can be used to backup or easily access files from different places. SugarSync only has paid plans with 100, 250 or 500GB storage, with Prices from $75 per year. A free account for three months with 5GB storage, to try it out is also possible. More information about the possibilities of SugarSync is here can be found and compared with other services here. Clients exist for various mobile platforms, Windows and macOS, but not yet for Linux. In addition, there is a Outlook plugin. This release includes support for apfs, Apple’s new file system.

Fixed in version 3.8.4:

  • MacOS support for High Sierra and APFS
  • Added support for command-line option to prompt proxy dialog box
    • append “-showProxy=true” to command line arguments
  • Added support for custom folder icons on MacOS
  • Fixed shared folder recipient unsyncing folder after app restart
  • Fixed multiple crash issues that have been submitted by users
  • Fixed multiple memory leaks that were causing excessive memory consumption
  • Fixed multiple misc bugs
