Software Update: SoftPerfect Network Scanner 6.1.7

SoftPerfect has released version 6.1.7 of Network Scanner. This program is a simple ip, netbios and snmp scanner. It does not need to be installed to do its job, so it can be used quickly and easily to see who and what is connected to the network. The program is multithreaded and can see network shares, mac addresses, open ports and logged in users, among other things. The download is just three megabytes in size and the program is completely free to use. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

• Installation package as a form of distribution in addition to the portable build.
• Workaround for using Win10Pcap in duplicate IP finder due to an incompatibility.
• /openpass command line switch to reveal stored passwords within the UI.
• Downloading sanitised OUI.TXT from LinuxNet.CA rather than the IEEE web-site.

Fixed

• Initialisation of NIC and port databases if they were enabled just before rescan.
