Software Update: SoftPerfect Network Scanner 6.1.3

SoftPerfect has released version 6.1.3 of Network Scanner. This program is a simple ip, netbios and snmp scanner. It does not need to be installed to do its job, so it can be used quickly and easily to see who and what is connected to the network. The program is multithreaded and can see network shares, mac addresses, open ports and logged in users, among other things. The download is just three megabytes in size and the program is completely free to use. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

• Getting a list of logged-on users via WMI if all other methods fail.
• Automatic encoding detection when parsing a HTML page in Remote XML.
• New Rescan option to rescan both listed and undiscovered computers.
• Scan Comparison tool to highlight differences between any two scans.

Fixed

• PSCredential authentication error in Remote PowerShell.
• WMI parser that failed on statements containing the WHERE clause.
• Live Display and Rescanning when duplicate IP addresses were present.
