Download SmoothWall Express 2.0 beta 6

On the website of SmoothWall we read that a new version of SmoothWall Express has been released. This is the sixth beta for version 2.0. SmoothWall is a firewall/router that you can install as an operating system on an x86 PC. The software is based on Red Hat Linux and, according to the developers, capable of replacing expensive professional firewalls. A number of useful improvements have been made in the new release, such as an upgrade to kernel version 2.4.22:

• 2.4.22 kernel
• Core build distribution updated to updated Red Hat 8.0
• Support for BeWAN PCI ADSL card
• Port forward ranges
• The https admin port is now 441 instead of 445. The motiviation for this is that 445 is blocked by many ISPs
• Naturally, this beta includes the security fixes from previous betas, including the recent OpenSSH vulnerability fixes.
