Spread the love

Skype has released an update to version 6.0 of its VoIP client for Windows. With Skype it is possible to communicate with other Skype users by means of text, speech or image, or a combination thereof, via an internet connection. It is also possible to set up a video conference call with a maximum of ten people, but there is a Premium Subscription required. Furthermore, the Facebook News Feed is integrated into the program and there is Skype Home, a place where you can indicate your mood, change your profile and find new contacts.

Skype, now owned by Microsoft, has links to the Microsoft and Facebook accounts to allow chatting with Windows Live and Facebook users. It is not yet possible to have conversations, but we are working on it. In this release, tweaks have been made to simplify the transition from Windows Live Messenger to Skype, and some issues have been fixed.

Improvements:

  • Messenger upgrade to Skype flow introduced

Fixed issues:

  • Install: Skype in client upgrade did not work correctly.
  • Generic: Skype consumed higher amount of system resources for few users.
  • Calling: Seldom missed conference call might have shown as missed call from conference host.
