Software Update: Simple PHP Blog 0.4.6.1

Spread the love

Simple PHP Blog is, as the name implies, a simple blogger written in PHP. The big advantage of this piece of software is that no database is used to store the data. The data is namely stored in a simple text file on an environment with PHP 4 or more recent. Please note that different write permissions must also be set. The developers have fixed some issues of version 0.4.6 and therefore version 0.4.6.1 has been released very quickly:

We have released a maintenance release of 0.4.6 that fixes some minor issues people have had with the previous release:

  • Corrupt PNG files
  • Guti’s charset fix
  • version number updated properly

As well, we have updated the User Blogs listing (removing all those people with pages that don’t load, aren’t SPHPBlog, etc). I still cannot believe how many of those people still haven’t updated. I also added a FAQ/Troubleshooting link for all those items I keep getting duplicate questions about.

We are also going to attempt to keep the To-Do List page up-to-date. I have updated them with the latest items, but I will be fishing through the Sourceforge entries to find the rest.

As well, thanks to all those people who send in code and provide us with encouragement. It is very welcome nowadays.
