Software Update: qBittorrent 4.0.3

Version 4.0.3 of qBittorrent has been released. This open source torrent client has versions for Windows, Linux, macOS and FreeBSD, and shows no ads. The program is with Qt developed and based on libtorrent (raster bar) and boost† The program is the brainchild of French student Christophe Dumez, who has been working on it since early 2006. Today it is maintained by the community.

In version 4, among other things, the switch from Qt4 to 5 has been made and the program has also been given a new appearance and logo. Furthermore, the program can be used in portable mode, torrents can now also be shared for a certain time and not only until a certain percentage is reached, and the screen in which you can create torrents yourself has been overhauled. Version 4.0.3 fixes a handful of issues and finally includes the macOS client.

bug fix:

  • Add height padding to the transfer list icons. Close #7951.
  • Allow to drag-n-drop URLs into mainwindow to initiate download.
  • Fix crash when fitler search results. Stable sorting has been removed. Close #7952.

WebUI:

  • Fix missing qbt logo on login page in webUI. Close #7953.
  • Add check to avoid type error after logout.
  • Use POST for logout command. This is to avoid browser being smart to prefetch the link then logging out the user.
  • Fix WebUI is not reachable over IPv6.

Windows:

  • Disable the “?” help button in all dialogs on windows. Close #7365. Requires Qt 5.10.
