Software update: Pinnacle Studio 9.1.2.12b beta

Pinnacle Systems has released beta 9.1.2.12b of its video editing software Studio 9. The first reactions in the newsgroups show that the OOS problem that Studio in combination with MPEG source material has been suffering from for a long time still has not been solved. However, the following issues have been addressed in this release:

Studio 9.1.2.12b includes the following fixes and enhancements to Studio 9.1.0 (This is a specification only, improvements may not operate as intended)

  • Allows access to the complete range of Studio Premium plug-ins and content (HFX, DVD Menus, Sound Effects, Video Filters , Audio Filters and more)
  • Improved support for capture from TV tuners boards and other generic WDM devices
  • Improved Edit performance
  • Improved memory management
  • Improved MPEG2 A/V sync
  • Fixed some DVD playback issues
  • Image album now displays folders
  • Fixed problems with audio volume levels changing unexpectedly
  • Fixed problems with trimming while wave forms are being drawn
  • PIM1 files playback at correct rate
  • Fixed problems with no audio on DVD
  • Fixed several “Operation Failed” issues with cut & paste
  • Fixed several “Operation Failed” issues with cut & paste
  • Improved MicroMV support
  • Fixed crackling when panning audio
  • Can now paste at the very end of a project
  • Fixed failed to burn CD issues with short JPEGs
  • Audio trim tool now displays correct waveform
  • Studio VCDs will now play in Windows Media Player 9
  • CD Audio now shows proper track duration
  • Fixed problem with duration of Roll or Crawl tiles changing unexpectedly
  • Premium content unlock buttons in album are not displayed once content has been unlocked

Studio 9.1.2.12b includes the following fixes and enhancements to Studio 9.0.8 and 9.0.6 (This is a specification only, improvements may not operate as intended)

  • Solved some failed to compile disc problems
  • Fixed audio drop outs on SVCD
  • Solved some MPEG AV sync issues
  • Multimedia and Internet MPEG renders now create a video file
  • Resolved problems with pasting clips from multiple tracks
  • Studio now displays properly at non 4 x 3 screen resolutions
  • Improved accuracy of DVD size estimation
  • Auto-eject after burning disc now works
  • Solved problems with rendering half frame rate file to DV for Make Tape
