Software update: phpMyAdmin 2.6.2 rc1

The developers of phpMyAdmin have released a first release candidate of version 2.6.2 that contains an important bug fix, in addition, other adjustments have of course been made. This program consists of a collection of PHP scripts that allow to maintain and manage a MySQL database via a web interface. The release notes look like this:

Welcome to the first release candidate for 2.6.2. It contains a few fixed and improvements since 2.6.2-beta1, especially the fix for a new vulnerability announced in PMASA-2005-3

Improvements:

  • English messages improvements

Fixes:

  • Do not offer unavailable collations
  • XSS vulnerability on “convcharset”
  • do not allow to drop information_schema
  • Undefined offset (on the left panel)
  • Problem copying InnoDB table with foreign-key constraints to a table in the same database
