Software update: phpBB 3.1.0 rc 1

After four beta versions of phpBB 3.1.0, the first release candidate has now been released. With this program it is possible to create a web forum. PhpBB is made available under the gpl license and uses PHP and a database program to store messages. Besides MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Firebird and SQLite are also supported as database software. In addition to the complete installation, there are also various upgrade packages to download. Detailed information about the changes in version 3.1.0 is on the phpBB blog to find. New Features

  • Events – More events have been added to the template and the php core
  • PHPBB_DISPLAY_LOAD_TIME – A new constant has been added to dissociate the displaying of the load time from DEBUG
  • New profile fields – New profile fields for Facebook, Google+, Skype, Twitter and Youtube have been added

Notable Changes

  • Firebird – Firebird is NO LONGER SUPPORTED as a database backend
  • No functions in front files – All functions were moved from front-facing files to function files
  • File finder – phpbbfinder (previously phpbbextensionfinder) does not depend on extension manager anymore

Notable Bug Fixes

  • Right-to-left – Several bugs related to right-to-left languages ​​have been fixed
