Software update: phpBB 2.0.16

The development team behind phpBB has updated its eponymous open-source forum software to version 2.0.16. on this page the different downloads can be found. The program uses PHP and MySQL to store, save and retrieve messages. Besides MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft Access are also supported as database software. In this release, one serious security hole has been closed and some bug fixes have been made. The full changelog looks like this:

What has changed in this release?

  • Fixed critical issue with highlighting
  • Url descriptions able to be wrapped over more than one line again
  • Fixed bug with eAccelerator in admin_ug_auth.php
  • Check new_forum_id for existence in modcp.php
  • Prevent uploading avatars with no dimensions
  • Fixed bug in usercp_register.php, forcing avatar file removal without updating avatar informations within the database
  • Fixed bug in admin re-authentication redirect for servers not having index.php as one of their default files set
