Software update: PeerGuardian 2.0 public beta 2

Spread the love

PeerGuardian is a program that monitors every connection from outside to your computer. Any connection from a known “unwanted” user will be blocked immediately. Unwanted users include agencies that fight against software and music piracy. All IP addresses of unwanted users are stored in a central database and then distributed among the various clients. The program thus works as a general layer between, for example, a P2P program and the internet.

The developers have recently released a second public beta in which the use of resources has been drastically reduced. On Windows 2000/XP/2003 systems every protocol is now checked at kernel level, with Windows 98/ME this is not possible and the program works at tcp level. The supplied description looks like this:

PeerGuardian 2 is Methlabs’ premier IP blocker for Windows. With features like support for multiple lists, a list editor, automatic updates, and blocking all of IPv4 (TCP, UDP, ICMP, etc), PeerGuardian 2 is the safest and easiest way to protect your privacy on P2P. Plus, by integrating with Blocklist.org, lists are built custom just for you.[break]PeerGuardian 2.0 public beta 2 is available to download in the following two flavors:
