Software update: PCI-Z 2.0

Spread the love

Version 2.0 of PCI-Z has been released. PCI-Z is a small and free program that can identify unknown hardware in a Windows PC. Where most similar utilities read the driver string, this program uses the PCI ID Repository and displays the vendor id, devices, subsystems, and device classes information. Also, the program makes it easy to find drivers for the unknown hardware. Although the name is reminiscent of CPU-Z and GPU-Z, it has nothing to do with these programs. The changelog for this release looks like this:

Changes in version 2.0:

  • Significant code changes and speedups, improved pci.ids database handling
  • Support for online verification!
  • Verbose PCI device status
  • Various other code improvements
