Software Update: Paint.NET 4.2.12

Version 4.2.12 of Paint.NET has been released. This drawing and image editing program bridges the gap between the Paint supplied with Windows and expensive but very extensive programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Corel Photo Paint. Today, the program is also offered via the Windows Store offered, although a small fee is charged for that version. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Changed:

• Saving to use the ReplaceFile Win32 API, which improves its compatibility

Fixed:

• An error that was preventing some old PDN images from loading (reported here)
• A crash in the new selection outline renderer (due to misaligned Push/PopAxisAlignedClip calls)
• An EndOfStreamException error that prevented some JPEGs from opening
