Software update: Opera 16.0.1196.62

Opera version 16.0.1196.62 has been released. Opera announced earlier this year that it would stop developing the Presto render engine and switch to the Webkit engine, which powers the browsers Safari and Chrome, among others. Version 15 was the first stable release and now the first successor has become available. The release notes for this release can be found below.

You can download a fresh stable release of Opera 16. Probably you’re already using Next and/or Developer, so except rock solid stability, nothing really new for you. If you are on the Stable stream, you get the update automatically.
