OpenShot Video Editor is an open source video editor originally for Linux only. Now the editor is also available for Windows and Mac OSX. For now, the update is only available to people who supported the kickstarter campaign in 2013. The new version of the video editor will be available to everyone at a later date. The source code is available via Launchpad to download.

OpenShot Video Editor is made with Python, GTK and the MLT Framework and is comparable to Windows Movie Maker or Apple’s iMovie. If you want to try the program without installing it first, it is also possible to download a so-called live DVD to download.
