The MSX is a home computer from earlier times, but fortunately there are still a number of people who are fully engaged in the development of the MSX and also with the various emulators for this platform. The emulator openMSX runs on various operating systems, including Linux, Mac OS X and Windows, and according to the developers focuses on the perfection of gaming experience. Version 0.5.2 has been available for a few days with the following announcement:
openMSX 0.5.2 – Run Pennie, Run – contains several improvements to sound emulation, new artwork, game cheats, as well as a lot of other improvements and bug fixes. Together with openMSX a new version of Catapult, our user-friendly GUI, was released.

- Fixed a bug in the SCC emulation, which screwed up some sound effects

- Added a DirectSound driver for Windows
- Added sound logger: writes played sound to a WAV file
- Added disk manipulator: commands to import/export files from disk images (experimental)
