Software Update: O&D ShutUp10 1.6.1396

A much-discussed aspect of Windows 10 is the amount of information sent to Microsoft. This is often useful, because many matters can be handled better that way. But not everything is equally useful, so there are certainly concerns about privacy. Fortunately, many of these ‘phone home’ options can be turned off, although they are not all that easy to find.

O&O Software, known for its defragmenter, among other things, has developed a free tool with which many of these options can be easily turned on or off. In addition, it offers the option to create a system restore point beforehand. ShutUp10 is just under a megabyte in size and does not need to be installed to do its job. This release adds support for the April 2018 Update of Windows 10, but more has changed since version 1.6.1391.
