The fifth update of last month’s version 2.11.0 of NZBVortex has been released. This program is one of the most widely used usenet clients for OS X. It has everything you want from a modern usenet client expect, including support for various servers, connections and threads, notifications via Growl, the ability to use rss feeds and an nzb-watch folder, verification and repair of par files, and so on. NZBVortex is released as shareware and a license costs 16 euros. Since version 2.11.2, the following improvements have been made:

Changes in version 2.11.5

  • Support XtremeSplit (XTM) split files
  • Extremely rare: Freezing of User Interface while it is still downloading
  • Improve passworded Rar in Rar – detect this new password trick
  • Par2 file availability check: whitelist NFO – allow it to be missing
  • Junk detection: more than 10% damaged pause improvement

Changes in version 2.11.4

  • Free mode: configured speed limit always used even when not enabled when it’s below 250KB/s
  • Low occurrence: RSS feeds TV tracking might cause high CPU load and unable to quit app

Changes in version 2.11.3

  • Fix low occurrence crash in SSL error handling
