Download NSIS 2.08

Yesterday Joost Verburg released version 2.08 of NSIS, the Nullsoft Scriptable Install System. With this free program you can easily create installation packages under Windows. After creating a script, the program then creates a nice compact installer, in which uninstall options can also be given. The changelog of this release shows the following changes:

The Archive has been replaced with a Wiki† The new Wiki allows everyone to edit all pages so there’s no longer need to hunt for the original author. It also allows everyone to upload plugins and not just administrators. And as if that’s not enough, it looks better and provides easier and more feature-rich syntax.

• Library improvements: ordered registration after reboot, smaller RegTool and separate process for each registration to avoid conflicts (thanks stb)

• Missing LangString warning now uses the language name, if possible
• zip2exe: fixed restriction of extraction path length and updated to zlib 1.2.3 (bug #1226381)

Build System

• Added linker script to assure correct order of sections when building using GNU tools
• Added test target
• UIs are now built from source
