Software Update: nForce2 S2K Bus Disconnection Switcher

On the New Generation Order site, there is a small batch program that can take down the S2K Bus Disconnect (which is baked into most Via KT400, Via KM400, SiS 746, or nVidia nForce2 chipsets) from a motherboard with an nForce2 chipset can be turned on or off. This greatly reduces the energy consumption and corresponding heat emission of an Athlon XP processor. The program has been given the name nForce2 S2K Bus Disconnection Switcher and is here to take down. Below you can read which three options the switcher has to offer:

This tool will allow you to choose between three modes:

• enable S2K bus disconnection without HALT detection (C1/2 – advanced mode)
• enable S2K bus disconnection with HALT detection (C1 – basic mode)
• disable S2K bus disconnect
