Software Update: NewsBin Pro 6.20 Build 1444 Beta 2

The second beta release of NewsBin Pro version 6.20 has been released. NewsBin Pro is intended to retrieve files such as photos, movies and programs from usenet. These files can be downloaded in individual packets from one or more news servers and reassembled at the receiving end. Since version 6.00, the interface uses tabs and there is a cache-to-memory option that, if a machine has plenty of memory, reduces constant access to the hard drive. New in version 6.20 include a spam filter and the ability to set network throughput rates per hour and per day. Furthermore, proxy support has been improved, memory consumption has been reduced and the reliability of downloading and processing rar files has been improved. Changes in version 6.20 Beta 2 Build 1444:

• Changed how file uploading works in remote mode (TCP Interface) to fix a delay that was occuring.
• AutoPAR Changes:
  • Fixed issue with temp files not being removed by AutoPAR when path override is not used.
  • Fixed issue with AutoPAR override path setting. If it isn’t set, the folder override shouldn’t work either.
• Display Changes:
  • Verify that custom lists can accept entries from loaded NZB
  • Added new feature, Right Click/Post Storage/Use Download Age.
  • Re-ordered the status bar a little.
  • Fixed issue where proxy settings complained about not having username and password even when auth isn’t enabled.
• Download Changes:
  • Addressed excessive resizing of the per download article buffer.
  • Re-worked the chunk cache with a different way to initialize size.
  • Speed ​​limiter now throttles NNTP connections only and not Internet Search results or TCP Interface (nbremote).
  • During chunk downloads, made changes to not always retry depending on the error. Some errors mean disconnect.
  • If a server fails the XFEATURES request and it’s not an auth failure, now disables xfeatures.
  • Disabled the internal record cache, appears to have improved single connection performance.
  • Fixed issue that potentially could have caused post list crashing.
