Software Update: Mozilla Thunderbird 31.0

Spread the love

After a long time with updates with version number 24.6.x, the Mozilla Foundation has now released version 31 of Thunderbird, aligning the version number with the Firefox browser. Mozilla Thunderbird is an open source email and newsgroup client, with features such as support for several mail and news accounts, a spam filter, spell checker, and a customizable look and feel. In this release, among other things, the automatic completion of email addresses and newsgroup names has been improved and the outdated and insecure NT lan manager is blocked.

New

  • Autocompleting email addresses now matches against any part of the name or email (bug 529584)
  • Composing a mail to a newsgroup will now autocomplete newsgroup names (bug 61491)
  • Insecure NTLM (pre-NTLMv2) authentication disabled (see 828183)
