Software Update: Malwarebytes 4.5.14.210

Malwarebytes has released a new version of its eponymous antivirus program. This program is aimed at combating malware, such as malicious software that masquerades as a bona fide anti-virus or anti-spyware solution, but actually has less good intentions, such as ransom– or scareware. In addition to the free version, there is a paid version, which offers additional functionality, including real-time protection. The changelog for this release looks like this:

• Fixed: “Windows startup” setting gets enabled after updating MBAM even though the setting is disabled pre-update

• Fixed: Scheduled scan cannot be started leading to Crash (Win11 only)
