Software Update: MacTheRipper 2.6.6

MacTheRipper as the name suggests is a DVD ripper for the Mac OS X platform. It uses the open source libdvdread and libdvdcss libraries to do its job. The program knows how to handle protections such as CSS encryption, Macrovision and the newer ARccOS and the region code can be set to 0, making the DVD region free. It is also possible to remove User Operation Prohibitions, which are parts of a DVD that cannot be skipped or skipped like FBI warnings. Version 2.6.6 has been available for some time with the following changes:

• Improves prescanning to fix crashing problems on certain DVDs.
• Faster prescanning by consolidating code into fewer passes to reduce seeking.
