Software Update: Macrium Reflect 8.0.6392

Paramount Software has released a new version of Macrium Reflect. This program can create a disk image of a partition or hard disk. In addition to the free version, there are also paid performances those different extras such as being able to do a file backup or an incremental backup, encryption, and restoring a backup to different hardware than it was created on.

Version 8.0 has been available since mid-May, but the free version could not be picked up yet. Alternatively, a trial version of Macrium Reflect Home could be installed, which would then switch back to the free version after 30 days. Recently, the free version is also available be downloaded immediately† In version 8.0.6392 the following improvements have been madeL

Bug Fixes and Improvements

• Some customers have reported incorrect drive letter assignments in Windows PE. This has been resolved.
  If this issue affects you then please create fresh rescue media after updating.
• Improved performance of the Exchange Mailbox Restore wizard when selecting folders or mailboxes.
• We’ve added extra detection for nonconforming 3rd party file system kernel filter drivers to prevent system exceptions.
• Various minor fixes and changes to improve Macrium Reflect.
