For passing on and logging system messages you can use the standard syslog to use. For example, it is used to send status messages from network equipment to a central application, where they can then be analysed. Kiwi Syslog Server is such an application that can capture syslog messages, analyze them, and then take a predefined action. For example, it is possible to send an e-mail, send an SNMP trap message or page the administrator based on a specific alert. The developers of SolarWinds, the company that bought Kiwi Enterprises last year, have released Kiwi Syslog Server 9.2.0 with the following list of changes:

- New “Administrator” only section in Web Access.

- Pass-through authentication support added to Web Access.
- Filter refinements in URL parameter support added to Web Access.
- Size and age-based database maintenance policies added.
