Software Update: K-Meleon 0.9

K-Meleon is an Internet browser for the Windows platform based on the Gecko engine from the Mozilla project. After the previous release dating back to December 2003, we can finally rejoice with a fresh version numbered 0.9. This browser is very fast and especially on the older machines this is very noticeable when you compare it with other modern browsers. The K-Meleon team has provided the following release notes:

K-Meleon 0.9 has been released! Based on the Mozilla 1.7.5 codebase, 0.9 includes many new features and an even better browsing experience!

  • Enhanced Search – Support for multiple engines. Search from the URL Bar, via prompt or for any highlighted/selected text on a page. Additional options are available.

Fixed:

The fixes in the 0.9 release include the following serious bugs:

• Bug 315 GDI leak from viewing many images causes the screen to white out.
