Software Update: Jetico Personal Firewall 1.0.1.53

The Finnish Jetico has updated its Personal Firewall of the same name to version 1.0.1.53. The software uses a so-called three-layer protection. First of all, the low-level network packets are filtered on, for example, source, final destination, addressing and protocols used. In addition, there is filtering at application level, where network traffic per program is monitored. Finally, there is filtering at user level. For example, think of tojans and other malicious programs. Below are the changes since the last entry in the junk tracker:

• Option “Auto Best fit” was added to the “View” menu and minor corrections in user interface were made.
• Occasional crash of the firewall filtering module on multi-processor computers is fixed.
• System tray firewall indication is fixed.
• Occasional crash on hiper threading and SMP computers is fixed.
• Configuration Wizard now correctly recognizes broadcast addresses as firewall dynamic variables.
• The firewall behavior at system shutdown is corrected.
