Software update: JavaRA 2.6

JavaRa is a program to clean up old versions of Java and the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Oracle, after acquiring Sun publisher of Java, regularly releases new versions of Java that add new features and fix bugs and security vulnerabilities. However, updating does not remove the old versions and over time these files can take up quite a bit of space. JavaRa not only removes old files, but also cleans the registry. In addition, the program can check whether the latest version of JRE is on the computer. Version 2.6 has been released and comes with the following caveats:

JavaRa 2.6 adds preliminary support for the recently released Java Runtime Environment version 8. Several issues related to detecting JRE uninstallers, particularly on 64bit systems, have also been resolved.

• Now detects and removes JRE 8
• Fixed registry access issues on x32 systems
• Fixed an exception when running JavaRa on the commandline on x64 Windows
• Updated Brazilian Portuguese localization
