Software Update: ICQ 2001b Alpha v.5.05 (Build #3619)

Joost v/d Velde sent us the link to the new version of ICQ. In the meantime we have already arrived at version 2001b Alpha of this very well-known instant messenger. In the release notes you can read both the removed and added features:

The following are no longer in ICQ2001b:

• My ICQ Web Front
• ICQ Surf
• Outlook Integration (ICQ bar)
• External Applications support
• ActiveList
• Check Email
• ICQ Email client

New possibilities:

• Install ICQ with one click and you can easily choose between Advanced and Simple option.
• New design
• Spell checker
• Choose your ICQ functions yourself what you want
• Option to quickly download and remove the features you want
• Your contact list is stored on the ICQ server so that you can use your ICQ number and contacts from any PC.
• A central Security & Privacy option.
• Newer and nicer Whitepages to search users.
• File exchange with your friends.
• Ignore
• ICQ Shared Files folder on the desktop
