Software update: HostsMan 4.3 build 99

Spread the love

One way to keep malware and advertisements out is to block the computers that serve this content. This can be done by including the IP numbers of these machines in the host file and pointing them to localhost. Keeping this host file up-to-date is a time-consuming task, but HostsMan can help with that. This free program can update current lists of well-known websites such as Msmvps.com fetch and combine with the already present host file. Furthermore, it can check the host file for wrong, duplicate or malicious lines, there is a built-in editor and the dns cache can be emptied. An update for version 4.3 of HostsMan has been released with the following changes:

Changed:

  • Code refactoring;

Fixed:

  • Backup manager does not show backup files created in v3.2.73 and prior;
  • Possible access violation in the text file parser with files of certain sizes;
  • Import of compressed hosts files in “Import/Export” wizard is broken;
  • Index out of bounds error when trying to import from a compressed file that doesn’t contain a hosts file;
  • Minor bugs.
