Software update: Hitman Pro 3.5 build 68

SurfRight has released build 68 of Hitman Pro 3.5. Hitman Pro is an all-in-one solution against viruses, spyware, Trojan horses, rootkits and other malware. In version 2.0, the program still used twelve different antispyware and antivirus programs, which were called and run independently. From version 3.0, however, only self-developed software and ‘cloud computing’ are used, which scan the computer in a smart way. As a result, a scan of a complete computer often takes no more than a few minutes.

Hitman Pro is not completely free. Scanning does not cost anything, but in order to remove infections, the program will have to be activated. A free key can be requested the first time. This can be used for thirty days, but after that the wallet will have to be pulled. Since build 66, the following changes and improvements have been made to the program:

Changes in build 68:

  • Changed Crusader removal tactics to handle specific new rootkits.
  • Updated the internal whitelist.

Changes in build 67:

  • Added option to report a file as safe. This will also set the default action on that file to “Do not delete” (locally).
  • Improved dynamic detection and removal of fake/rogue anti-malware traces.
  • Fixed a potential issue which could cause the removal engine not to timeout when removing a particular malicious driver.
  • Updated the internal whitelist.
