Software Update: Hitman Pro 1.7.4

Hitman Pro has been updated to version 1.7.4. This program is a 17MB download containing the free versions of Ad-aware SE, Webroot SpySweeper, Spybot Search & Destroy, SpywareBlaster and McAfee Stinger, and around it a shell that configures the individual programs and calls them one by one. If paid versions of the aforementioned version are already installed, they will be used. The changelog for this release looks like this:

Improved

• Proxy server support. Previously, the Internet updater could only use the proxy server settings if the IP address of the proxy server was specified in Internet Explorer. Now Hitman Pro can also handle computer names.
• The spyware found by Spy Sweeper is now also removed on systems with the screen resolution at 800 x 600 pixels. Incidentally, this is the minimum resolution that is supported by Hitman Pro.
• Hitman Pro now has its own setup with updates for Spybot S&D on board. This setup reports the updates to Spybot so that only newer includes are downloaded by Spybot.
• Detection of expired trial version included for Spy Sweeper.
• If the security level of the Internet zone in Internet Explorer is better than Normal, it was previously set to Normal anyway. This no longer happens.
• Some users informed me that Spybot does not automatically close S&D on their particular system at the end of its scan. The code has been modified so that it shouldn’t happen again.
• Hitman Pro will delete the Windows Temp folder and the Temporary Internet Files folder before starting the cleaning actions. This reduces the scan time and provides additional disk space which is stated in the report.
• Updated the SpywareBlaster control module so that it also runs properly on displays with different dpi settings.
• By popular request, I’ve changed the name of the installation package from setup.exe to hitmanpro174.exe, which contains the numbers for the version.

Dissolved

• Fixed several bugs: “If $Yellow=0 Then” error, “TrayTip ( $TrayTipTitle, $TrayTipComponent�” error and “$Line = FileReadLine ( $File )” error.

• Definitions of Spy Sweeper, Ad-Aware, Spybot and Spyware Block List File in the installation package.
