Software update: GSpot 2.5 beta 6

Spread the love

ErikB2 informed us that version 2.5 beta 6 of GSpot has been released. With this program, it is possible to analyze avi and mpeg files and provide detailed information about them, such as which audio and video codecs are required to play the file, and whether they are installed on the system. Since version 2.5 beta 3 the following has changed:

v2.5 beta 6

  • Fixed AVI interleave & preload display problems. Now works with VBR MP3 and AC3 audio, and with VDubMod style ‘single chunk’ preloads. Also shows whether the audio frames are ‘aligned’ or ‘split’ on interleaves.
  • MPEG files now display approx total frames (calculated val), not “0”
  • Switched to HH:MM:SS time display & removed some extended chars.

v2.5 beta 5

  • Restored “VBR” and “CBR” designations in audio info.
  • Fixed incorrect bitrate displayed for VBR MP3 AVIs.
  • Fixed incorrect “missing” length value displayed for truncated AVIs.
  • Fixed monitor window not reverting to “stream” after drag and drop.
  • Fixed “gray rectangle over monitor window” problems – again!
  • Fixed a few more resize issues; also adjusted tooltip positioning.

v2.5 beta 4

  • Build 040708: Fixed gray rectangle on monitor window problem
  • Fixed GUI artifacts resulting from resizing the app.
  • Also some rendering related & other misc fixes.
