Software Update: Gnome 2.27.2

The developers of Gnome have released an update for the development branch with version number 2.27.2. This popular desktop environment for *nix systems does not normally come as a pre-installed installation, but will need to be compiled independently in sequence or available with an update to your favorite Linux distribution. The corresponding announcement of this release on the mailing list is as follows:

GNOME 2.27.2 Development Release

This is the second development release towards the wonderful 2.28 release! Various bug fixes and nice improvements in several modules. Fun, fun, fun!

To compile GNOME 2.27.2, you can the jhbuild [1] module sets [2] (which use the exact tarball versions from the official release):
