Software Update: GKrellM 2.1.8

Spread the love

Everyone is familiar with some program to show some stats from their computer. This can be done via a bar using Statbar and Winbar, but also via CoolMon. This can mainly be seen on the forum; users who use a program on their Windows desktop to show different kinds of statistics. Linux users usually use the GKrellM program. This program is able to show stats by means of one process, which benefits the system load.

Version 2.1.8 is the latest version and is available for Windows, MacOS X and Linux, among others. One of the new features is the warning system: you will be warned when the load, CPU usage or swap file exceeds the set value. The rest of the changelog looks like this:

    • io-timeout and reconnect-timeout for automatic gkrellm reconnections t

    • Christopher Hassell [jeezfrk–at–pobox.com] patch stops some segfaults by making disk_assign_data() really not reference NULL disks.
    • Brian Almeida [bma–at–tux.org] fix to check chart format strings for NULL to stop some segfaults (it happens when g_locale_from_utf8() cannot convert a utf8 string to the current locale so this may also be a user font problem).
    • Patrick Modesto [mody–at–atlas.cz] patch changes fopen() to open() in Linux gkrellm_sys_net_isdn_online(). Beats me why fopen() wasn’t working.

[break] If you don’t use Linux, you can here go for the correct version of GKrellM .
