Software Update: Ghostery 6.0

Version 6.0 of Ghostery has been released. Ghostery is a browser add-on that provides insight into trackers present on web pages. These are used, among other things, for visitor statistics and direct marketing. It is also possible to block these trackers, which benefits, among other things, privacy and loading times. The addon is available for Opera, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Android and iOS. Version 6.0 is currently only available for the desktop version of Firefox, but other browsers will follow soon. The release notes for this release are as follows:

Ghostery 6.0 for Firefox includes the following new major features:

  • New customer support implementation (Zendesk)
  • Internationalization into 22 supported languages

Ghostery 6.0 for Firefox includes the following major defect fixes:

  • Preliminary fixes on Macs for defects experienced with Electrolysis enabled in the Firefox Nightly build.
  • Fixes the issue experienced on sites with the Taboola tracker wherein tracker counts were inaccurate and the trust / restrict site functionality was disrupted.
