The final release of foobar2000 version 1.0.1 was released on Saturday. This popular music player can handle MP3, aac, ogg vorbis, flac and ogg flac, wav and wma, among others, as well as support for Replay Gain. The player can also convert different formats and the program has extensive options to adjust the tags. In addition, it is possible to change the functionality using plugins to expand further. Below are the changes being made in version 1.0.1, followed by what’s improved since beta 2:

Changes in foobar2000 version 1.0.1:

  • Undecodable tracks now get substituted with 1s of silence to prevent deadlocks with dodgy third-party components.
  • Worked-around bug in Windows 7 with status bar repaint glitches.
  • Windows Media streaming compatibility improvements.
  • Fixed notification area icon being incorrectly shown in certain conditions.
  • Audio format support updates: added support for decoding Wave64 and RF64 formats, added built-in support for writing Wave64 format.
  • Added folder name wildcard matching for album art search.
  • Added a workaround for horribly broken Asus Xonar drivers.
  • Converter: worked-around misbehaviors of command-line encoders when the output file name begins with – or @.
  • Converter: refreshed MP3 encoding configuration dialog.

Changes since beta 2:

  • Bug: Incorrect handling of relative paths in M3U files on HTTP servers.
  • Bug: Cannot seek anymore when playback is about to stop as a result of end-of-playlist condition
