Software Update: FileZilla 3.9.0 Beta 2

The second beta version of version 3.9.0 of the open source FTP client FileZilla has been released. FileZilla is small, simple and yet complete. The program is popular due to its low system resource load. However, a common complaint is that passwords are stored unencrypted on the computer. FileZilla is available for Windows, Linux, and OS X, and can be downloaded from this page be downloaded in different versions. Be careful of other sources as there are modified versions floating around the internet that contain malware. Version 3.9.0 includes a new way of to sort added and in beta 2 the following changes have been made:

Bug fixes and minor changes:

  • Natural sort now also works with directory comparison
  • Toolbar state now updates if directory tree visibility is toggled by enabling directory comparison
  • *nix: Fixed minimizing to tray not working
  • Fixed background of activity indicators
  • Several dialog layout fixes
  • Removed spurious error message when closing FileZilla
