Software update: FastStone Image Viewer 2.6 beta 3

FastStone released the third beta release of version 2.6 of its Image Viewer yesterday. This program can handle most common graphic file formats and has support for digital camera RAW formats crw, cr2, nef, pef, raf, mrw, orf and dng. In addition, some simple operations can be performed, including rotate (lossless for jpeg), crop, resize, remove red-eye, and adjust colors, contrast, and brightness. It can also generate a slideshow, possibly with music, and photos can be sent by email. New in version 2.6 includes support for dual monitors. There is no separate changelog for this release, but there is a list of the changes in the 2.6 beta so far:

New Features in this beta version:

• Add Wallpaper Anywhere (under Tools menu) that allows you to put photos anywhere on your windows Desktop (Screenshot)
• Can open all selected files in external program at a time (Press E key)
• Dual Monitor support (See “Dual Monitor” in the Settings. Screenshot). Now it is possible to:
  • Drag & Drop the main window to any of the monitors
  • Display thumbnail browser and Full Screen preview across two monitors simultaneously
  • Display slideshow in the secondary monitor
