Software update: Exact Audio Copy 0.95 beta 2

Spread the love

Exact Audio Copy is an advanced audio extraction program for reading protected or unprotected audio CDs to the computer, whereby you can choose almost any compression format imaginable. The program was developed by Andre Wiethoff out of dissatisfaction with the extraction programs at the time, which often had poor results on damaged CDs. Exact Audio Copy uses a reading technique that detects and often corrects errors with very high reliability. Through the AccurateRipplugin, the quality of the rip can be compared with that of other users.

As is often the case after an important release, some minor imperfections are quickly found. Beta 2 is therefore mainly a bugfix version of the version 0.95 beta 1, released at the beginning of May. For example, adjustments have been made to the newly added CDRDAO support and a command line switch has been added for people who have problems requesting freedb -information. The changelog of this release therefore looks like this:

What’s new in version 0.95 beta 2

  • Fixed some starting up issues and “Expecting only one toc-file” problems using CDRDAO
  • Added a new experimental command line switch for those still having freedb problems
  • Some smaller fixes
